Ron Watkins,
alias Tom Parry, alias Ed Hapgood, alias Ted
Rushgrove.
I write Western novels and these are the aliases I use. I have had 29 published by Robert Hale in their Black Horse Western Series.
Most of them have been reprinted in the Linford Western Library large print series. Although I may set my novels in Montana or Mexico I haven't been any further west than Haverford West. I have used a variety of characters in my novels from a railway engineer to an actor to a preacher to a circus performer.
I take about six months to come up with an idea, but when I have one I write quickly. I usually take about five weeks to write a novel although I have taken as little as two.
I have been asked why my interest in Westerns. The only reason I can find is that during the Second World War I lived in a cottage that had no running water, or electricity or gas. |

So I have a certain sympathy with the early settlers. I started writing Westerns when I took early retirement from my position of Deputy County Librarian. I am still writing at the age of
78.
